the new year has been an eye opener for me. I have set a bunch of goals and am working at them everyday. I catch myself daydreaming about my goals often. I even made a .doc for my goals. told you, I'm a total geek. cool thing is, I'm totally okay with that. as long as I don't start watching star-trek avidly and wearing pants above my belly-button too often then I'm okay. anyways, back to the new year. this new year, more than any other, has been a huge blessing. it's only the 17th of January and already I've grown and changed some things this year that I felt stuck with last year. I've let go of a lot of things.
one of my all time favorite quotes, which comes from the movie Chocolat, if you haven't seen it, it's such a treat, watch it now. for real. a reverend is giving a sermon on Easter Sunday to end the holy lent and fast. in his sermon he says, "We can't measure our goodness buy what we don't do, by what we deny ourselves and who we exclude. We need to measure our goodness by what we embrace, what we create and who we include." COOL, RIGHT?? It's so true.
that is my quote for the new year. we can't say, we didn't do this, I didn't do that, that's not enough. we have to try new things, embrace new habits (good habits) and include new people. not only is this a good way to live yourself, but it's a good way to view the world. what have they done? what do they do? of course, remaining open-minded and loving to every instance. still your mind and embrace and see what happens. let go and never look back.
