humor

my mom is an editor (a damn good one at that) and has this eye that can catch any grammatical error anywhere and anytime. being her daughter and almost a carbon copy of her, I picked up the (bothersome and rather super annoying sometimes) trait as well. if you're at all like us, you'll love this comic.

one day

assuming that ya'll have seen a preview for or actually seen the film 'One Day' with Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway, which I thought was wonderful, if you have not read the book, you have to. it is so, so good! better than the movie by a long shot. it is my latest read and I cannot put the book down. yes, it's a romance novel but seriously, David Nicholls has done a brilliant job at relating to both females AND males. guys, you would like it to, I swear. it's intelligently paced and so beautifully written. new-age, fun, romantic, engaging, heart-wrenching, it's lovely. it's quickly climbing my list to one of my tops. pick up a copy or call me and you can borrow mine after I'm done. IT'S SO GOOD.

spring forward

man, time catches up with ya quick. I MISSED MY BLOG! thank you to everyone who even glances at it, I love that you care.

so, what to blog about today! SPRING IS COMING! SPRING IS COMING! if you live in the west, you know what day light savings is (and how irritating it can be at times) and it's over March 12th! Hallelujah! this is my second most favorite time of year after fall. anyways, why am I talking about spring? why is it totally awesome? not going in order of importance, the clothes. all the designers are coming out with new looks that's refreshing and renovated. so, here is one of my all time favorite designers, Chanel, and man oh man did she do a wonderful job this spring. look!

told ya, GORGEOUS. I know, I'm excessive, I can't do a thing about it.

spring brings the new in. I love the phrase "spring forward" when it comes to setting the clocks because for me, that is exactly what spring does. it's that breath of fresh air (and vitamin D) that we all need after dark, cold, winter months. it has really inspired me this year to really nip what I need to in the bud and get it done. I'm ranting but I'm just so excited this year! ultimately though, this freshman year in college has been a real eye-opener for me and spring is bringing this year to a close. I'm really hoping that at a few of you who read this know exactly what it feels like. if not, cool, I'm a loon. whatever. I guess what I'm trying to say is that my freshman year has changed me and put me right down my path and really is the catalyst for the solidification of who I am and what I will stand for, what I will do with this time I have been blessed with on this earth. I heard this quote in a song this week on KRCL (local radio station out of salt lake, amazing, 90.9, hardly any commercials, I've never heard a song repeated, listen and contribute if you haven't. trust in KRCL and you will NEVER look back) and it said, "It's better to burn out bright than to fade away." LOVE THAT! who wants to waste who they are and the time they've been given here as nothing and not leave a single mark anywhere? LAME. don't do it. I'm not. if you have faith that you can find out who you are and you take those steps to even just begin, your mind will be blown at how quickly you can unfold yourself and figure yourself out. it's wonderful. take that one step, have the faith it will work and you will spring forward. no joke. I'll shut up now.

love you ALL

fashion icon

so, for a while now (I know how trivial it is to think of these things often but I'm a female and a quite style-obsessed one at that, so sue me) I have been looking for a fashion icon that I could refer too as well as relate to. cool thing, my style icon(s) not only come in a package deal but I've been following their style and wearing the same look for a long time now and didn't even know... MARY KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN. love those girls and have since I was a little girl and they've still got it completely going on. make-up, swag, clothing and accessories are all what I love and wear everyday. these girls are so successful and totally gorgeous and individual. look and enjoy!

Diesel me crazy.

Diesel is one of my all time favorite brands. they have this unique, street-chic style that makes me want to buy everything in the store. they are coming out with their spring line and here are a couple looks to show you how bomb.com Diesel will be. and it's only January!

these were shown to me by a good friend and he said he could see me in both... I AGREE! I am not one for metallic but in these cases, I'm all there. the shoes, honestly, are my favorite part. I am an ankle strap girl. those were the first thing that caught my eye. hope you enjoy!

you design yourself everyday

like I said in my intro, I believe that you design yourself every day as you get ready. I really believe that what you wear determines what you feel and how you feel. I know that is absolutely true for me, anyways. so, I picked out a fabulous outfit the other day and I want to share it with ya'll. chic, contemporary, classic and comfortable. totally awesome street wear. here it is.

simple and super cute right? honestly, there is nothing that makes you feel sexier than a guy's inspired (this is not a guys shirt, I swear I bought it in the women's section at the Hurley store) dolmen sleeved button-up with a pear of leggings. it's like bedroom wear turned to street wear. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. By the way, those fabulous shoes you're seeing, I got at JMR. I love that store! not only do they have every pair of TOMS under the sun but they have the cutest shoes and clothing. sorry boys, it's mostly for girls but hey, good gift idea. don't forget JMR.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB

snowy night with my friends and we want to watch a movie. one of my absolute favorite movies (my second most favorite to be exact) immediately popped into my mind and we had to watch it... The Breakfast Club. my friends and I are all graduated now but as we watched it tonight, we realized that the message of movie, the main plot, till applies to everyone no matter your age. don't get caught up in dumb stuff and more importantly, don't get caught up in yourself. the world is full of amazing people that we usually only get to meet skin deep. that is what the five main characters came to understand in this movie and it was the best refresher and reminder. so, here is the last few scenes of the movie that sum it all up. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

The New York Times Style Magazine

Look and enjoy! I know I do!

YES PLEASE

Like I've said, I am going to be an architect. So, I was looking on the New York Times Style Mag, the T Magazine. LOVE IT. If you haven't checked it out, you have to. So, one of the main articles in the design section was this inverted warehouse made into a townhouse. The whole warehouse, industrial bit in modern architecture is some of my favorite. I'm sure, many will agree. I will live in a place like this. I will! Watch and see!

warbey parker

This is the coolest website! Presuming that everyone knows what the company TOMS is all about, Warbey Parker does the same thing. TOMS gives a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair bought, but Warbey Parker takes it up a notch in that it's selling glasses rather than shoes! So cool. If you wear sunglasses or Rx glasses, check it out. I want like five pair. You will, too.

let go

the new year has been an eye opener for me. I have set a bunch of goals and am working at them everyday. I catch myself daydreaming about my goals often. I even made a .doc for my goals. told you, I'm a total geek. cool thing is, I'm totally okay with that. as long as I don't start watching star-trek avidly and wearing pants above my belly-button too often then I'm okay. anyways, back to the new year. this new year, more than any other, has been a huge blessing. it's only the 17th of January and already I've grown and changed some things this year that I felt stuck with last year. I've let go of a lot of things.

one of my all time favorite quotes, which comes from the movie Chocolat, if you haven't seen it, it's such a treat, watch it now. for real. a reverend is giving a sermon on Easter Sunday to end the holy lent and fast. in his sermon he says, "We can't measure our goodness buy what we don't do, by what we deny ourselves and who we exclude. We need to measure our goodness by what we embrace, what we create and who we include." COOL, RIGHT?? It's so true.

that is my quote for the new year. we can't say, we didn't do this, I didn't do that, that's not enough. we have to try new things, embrace new habits (good habits) and include new people. not only is this a good way to live yourself, but it's a good way to view the world. what have they done? what do they do? of course, remaining open-minded and loving to every instance. still your mind and embrace and see what happens. let go and never look back.

i'm officially a geek

"life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured."

hi, I'm the daydreamer. I am now officially a geek because I now am the writer of a blog. I've been wanting to start a blog now for a while and I am finally doing it. thus, why I am now officially a geek. I'm so with the times now!

let me tell you a little about myself, I am eighteen years-old and live in the mystical and majestic state of Utah. ha! my name is Sarah by the way. I am currently a freshman in college in pursuit of a degree in architecture. I will be an architect one day and a damn good one at that. I am music obsessed and come from a very musically oriented family. it's what we do. I am a total fashionista and I strongly believe people are walking art forms in and of themselves and design themselves everyday. I take full advantage of it. I'd like to say I'm athletic but I'm not really proficient in any sport, there are just a lot of them that I really enjoy: snowboarding, longboarding, hiking, running and biking (the cruiser type). I am a traveler and will travel the entire world one day. There is nothing more thrilling than going to and seeing new places and ways of life. pet peeves include people who walk with their heads down and who leave the toilet seat up. the saying I live by is life is too short and precious to spend not doing exactly what you want to do and being exactly who you are and who you are meant to be. life is a gift and it's not meant to be wasted.

I am the daydreamer because I am really driven and ambitious and want to squeeze every little drop of juice that life has to offer into my glass and I live as such. it dominates my thoughts and thus the daydreams. the whole reason I am creating a blog is to channel my life and to record as much of it as I can. life is a journey! live and love hard or not at all.

enough about me, this is my blog.
